MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Meeting Date: July 30, 2007 Place: Papa’s New Roost
Big Sir Roy Sweeney opened the meeting at 7:55 AM. Secretary Dan Mohn reported that a quorum was present (see attached attendance report). The minutes of the July 2, 2007 BEC meeting were approved as sent to all Officers and Directors by electronic media. (Spierling/Smith).
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Assistant Treasurer Richard Robinson Brandau reported a beginning balance of $3451.30 and an ending balance of $3188.38 for the month of July. The major expenditures were: Printing and Supplies - $64.22; Postage - $134.80; State Board Pro Rata Assessment - $148.00; Guest Expenses - $12.00; and, Other - $36. Assistant Treasurer RobinsonBrandau further reported Other Income of $127.50. The report was approved (Beltran/Feaster).
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance Chairman Herb Spierling reported his new Excel program for tracking members’ attendance is working well.
MEMBERSHIP:
Big Sir Roy Sweeney, in the absence of Attendance Chairman Lee Piercey, reported that Doug Vierth and Zim Zimmerman have resigned because of their attendance problems. These two vacancies will be filled at the September Luncheon Meeting by the top two people on the waiting list.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
LUNCHEON: The RV Club Ladies Day BBQ is in lieu of the luncheon this month.
PROGRAM: None
COMPUTER USER’S GROUP: Sir Ray Pfoutz reported that he and Sir Rich Froisness are planning a joint meeting with the Digital Photo Group, for September, to discuss the use of Picasso and other photo management programs.
WEB PAGE: Sir Don Denhard reported that the web page is up to date.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP: See Computer User’s Group.
GOLF: Sir Gerry Emerson reported that the next meet would be at Mace Meadow on August 7. The State SIR Golf Scramble will be on August 20 at Poppy Ridge.
BULLETIN: Sir Ed Nissen stated that Tthe deadline for August bulletin items is August 6. Sir Nissen reported that Sir Stu Heller would produce the September Bulletin.
PUBLICITY: No Report.
TRAVEL: Sir Earl Nelson reported that 27 Sirs/Guests have signed up for the Rose Parade Trip. Sir Nelson requested approval of a Riverboat trip from Amsterdam to Budapest departing in September 2008, operated by Vantage Travel Company. Approved (Sweeney/Pfoutz).
RV: Sir Harvey Uhl reported that the Ladies Day BBQ at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park is all set for August 2. One hundred and eighty two Sirs/Guests have bought tickets to date. A few additional tickets are still available.
THEATER: The next stage play is Paint Your Wagon on September 12, followed by dinner at Birdies in Mountain Springs.
HIKING: Sir Jerry Jensen requested approval for a hike to Cow Meadow on August 22 and a hike around Lake Eleanor sometime during the week of September 16, 2007. Approved (Beltran/Smith).
MOVIE: No Report
FELLOWSHIP: Sir Jim McCracken reported that Sir Ron Humann was undergoing cancer treatment. Also Big Sir Roy Sweeney reported that Sir Gordon Willey was undergoing similar treatment. Big Sir Sweeney will notify Sir Carl Nunes to be certain that appropriate Get Well cards are sent.
FISHING: Sir Herb Spierling reported that Sonora Branch 136 is sponsoring a Salmon fishing trip to the Klamath River. Anyone interested in going on this trip should call Sir Spierling.
OLD BUSINESS
Christmas Dinner Party
Big Sir Roy Sweeney will reported that singers Julie Ludlum and her husband will provide the entertainment for our Christmas Dinner Program.
