Christmas Dinner Party

Sir Henry Beltran presented the following details on the Christmas Dinner Party: To avoid scheduling problems, the Branch Christmas Dinner Party will be at the Elks Lodge on December 5, rather than the previously scheduled December 13th. The menu will include a choice of Prime Rib or Chicken Cordon Blu. A vegetarian entrée will be available for anyone who requests it ahead of time. The price is $25 per person and includes wine and desert. There will be no limit on the number of Sirs and their guests, up to the capacity of the Elks Lodge dining room. Little Sir Don Denhard will print the tickets, Sirs Joe Smith and Ralph Bushnell will handle the ticket sales, and Sir John Kinsfather will print the nametags. A discussion ensued concerning the entertainment for the evening. Sirs Feaster and Nelson will check out some possibilities and report back to the BEC. Sir Henry Beltran is the party manager, however, because of a long-standing commitment, he will not be attending the party. The party details were approved. (Feaster/Smith).

There will be no December luncheon because of the date change for the Dinner Party.

Sonora Branch 136 will host a training day for Activity Chairmen on July 14 at the Elks Lodge. Twain Harte Branch Activity Chairmen will attend, if personal scheduling allows.

NEW BUSINESS:

Sir Dick Feaster opened discussion regarding raising the membership limit from 150 to some higher number, since space is now available for additional members at luncheons held in the Elks Lodge. Discussion ensued regarding moving the luncheon meetings to a place closer to Twain Harte that may not have the capacity to serve the added membership. Discussion to increase the membership limit was tabled until July, at which time Little Sir Don Denhard will have met with the Tuolumne Band of Mi Wuk Indians to determine what facilities they will be constructing in the near future which the Branch may use for luncheon meetings. Regardless of Sir Denhard’s findings, many members of the BEC would like to hold the membership cap at 150 members.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 AM

The next BEC meeting will be at Papa’s New Roost on June 4, at 8:00 AM.
